UCATT Legal Aid Scheme for Members

UCATT Members - Legal Aid Scheme for Industrial Accidents / Diseases

Should you have an accident at work, or should you contract an industrial or occupational disease then as a UCATT member you will be entitled to our legal services in respect of personal injury claims free of charge under the UCATT Legal Aid Scheme.
The first step is for you to obtain a Legal Aid Schedule form from your local branch secretary or other Union official. The completed Schedule will then be sent to ourselves by way of the UCATT head office.
Immediately after we receive the Schedule we will be in contact with you to investigate your claim. Our personal injury lawyers, based in Glasgow, Scotland, will represent you under the UCATT Scheme on a No-Win, No-Fee basis. You will also receive 100% of any compensation we are successful in recovering for you.

No-Win, No-Fee Compensation Claims for Members and Families

UCATT's Legal Aid Scheme does not extend to cover 1) members having an accident unconnected with their work or to 2) accidents involving families of members. Nonetheless UCATT and ourselves are very keen to offer legal assistance in these areas.

Therefore:-

If either a) you are a UCATT member who has been involved in an accident unconnected with your work (such as a road accident or a trip or slip in a public place) or b) you are a UCATT member whose family member has had an accident (at work or otherwise) then we can help you claim compensation from the party at fault for the accident.

We will do so on a No-Win, No-Fee basis, and you (or your family member as appropriate) will receive 100% of compensation secured by us for you. This is in contrast to many other legal firms who will insist on retaining 20% or even 30% of your settlement sum in payment of additional legal fees.
