Dallas McMillan Launch First Time Buyer Deal

The Scottish Government has announced the extension of their Help To Buy Scheme for new build houses by another year to 31st March 2022 with a budget of £55 million allocated for the financial year 2021/22. Dallas McMillan are delighted to launch our First Time Buyer deal with our legal fees reduced to £495 plus Vat and outlays for first time purchasers, which applies even where a couple are joint buyers but only one party in the couple is a first time buyer.

The Help To Buy Scheme runs alongside the First Home Fund which provides up to £25,000 towards the purchase of either a new build house or an existing house and again is available to first time buyers only. Both schemes are subject to eligibility criteria. The Help To Buy Scheme applies to new build houses only and can be applied for by first time buyers or existing homeowners.

In addition to the above, first time buyers already benefit from a £600 reduction in their Land & Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT, formerly “Stamp Duty”) which has the effect of no tax being paid for any purchase up to £175,000.

With the anticipated resurgence in the Scottish property market gathering momentum and lenders returning to the market with good deals, now is an excellent time to grab a bargain and take advantage of the schemes and incentives available.

Our first-time buyer scheme is for a limited period only so if you are interested please contact Terence Docherty now.
